The Dance and Installation Resource Pack encourages pupils to explore choreography in a site-specific context — designing movement-based installations that interact with physical spaces, architecture and objects. Children consider how movement responds to, reflects, or transforms their environment, fostering creativity, observation and collaborative problem-solving.

Structured yet flexible, this pack supports experimentation while providing practical guidance for delivering immersive dance installations.

What Will Pupils Create?

By the end of the project, pupils may create:

• A movement-based, site-specific dance installation
• Choreography inspired by local or global architecture
• Documented sequences of their installation using photography or audio

The focus is on exploration and interaction – each installation will be unique to the space and group creating it.
