BEEE Dance and Heritage
OUTSIDE THE EXHIBIT
Outside the Exhibit will explore ‘green spaces’ in Hitchin, Royston, Stevenage and Watford, considering advocacy of these green spaces, addressing urbanisation, identity and community pride in cherished communal assets.
Within the project there will be opportunities to take part in walks, dance, art, photography, film and exploration of the museum collections.
As a result of the project, we will co-produce installations/exhibitions, in the museum and in community spaces, that bring together personal histories with collective heritage narratives. This could include community's connection to nature, whether through childhood or adult memories of local parks, stories of personal roots and settlement, or reflections on how these spaces foster belonging.
The project will include:
- 180 participatory activities
- nine exhibitions/installations
- four digital resources/heritage trails
- a combination heritage, arts and environmental awareness.

Outside the Exhibit is managed by BEEE Creative, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and is being co-produced in collaboration with Watford, Stevenage, North Hertfordshire and Royston Museums.
