OVERVIEW
This worksheet will help you create a striking collage portrait of yourself using personal images that are important to you. Using collaging techniques, you will explore your unique experience of growing up and your individual identity.
RESOURCE LIST
• Sketchbook/paper
• Pencils
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Magazines/newspapers or images from the internet
• Watercolours/pastels
When starting an illustration, I go through newspapers etc to find some interesting words or images to use.
I started by cutting out an eye gluing it on the paper and outlining a face.
I then used a pastel to mark out a mouth and shaded it using a watercolour pencil.
I then used a watercolour pencil to shade in the face and around the face using a pastel.
The final illustration shows the effects of using the different art mediums and the cut out when creating illustrations.
