DANCE RE:IGNITE PROJECT ARTIST
Kathryn is an artist, storyteller, and creative facilitator.
With a background in early years education - creative play, exploration and improvisation sit at the heart of her work.
Kathryn studied philosophy and literature for her first degree at Warwick University, with post graduate study in primary teaching and Storytelling in therapy and education at the University of Herts.
An internship with Oily Cart Theatre Company, who make multi-sensory interactive theatre for young people with PMLD, Autism and also shows for babies was formative. Their integration of sound, movement, materials and sensation; their inclusive approach and deep attention to their participant audiences in creating work still guide her today.
Kathryn has told stories and runs workshops in parks, nature reserves, urban community gardens, museums, art festivals, buses, children’s centres, nurseries, schools, theatres, universities and in people’s homes as part of Bloomsbury festival in a box , bringing culture to those unable to leave their homes.
In recent years Kathryn has been developing her own visual art practice, first in ceramics and later in collage and installation.
